As part of the Editorial and Information Design course, all students were given the task of selecting a film and presenting it in a movie magazine. I chose Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson. The project stipulated that only text and infographics were to be used for the design, with illustrations only being used discreetly. I designed a total of three large and three smaller information graphics. The larger graphics include a timeline of the entire film, a scene analysis and a sociogram. The content of the smaller graphics was freely selectable, as was the textual content of the magazine, which was to be researched independently. The only requirement was to integrate an interview into the layout. During the entire design process, it was particularly important to me to appropriately reflect the loving nature of the film. The infographics should convey the playfulness of the film, while the layout should emphasise its clear structure. This project is very close to my heart, as it led me to discover my passion for information design.
